In a troubling development, despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, Tel Aviv has persisted with a series of aerial and ground attacks across various regions of Lebanon, resulting in multiple casualties. The Israeli occupation army confirmed on Wednesday that a group of settlers crossed the Blue Line into Lebanese territory, where they set up tents to promote the illegal construction of new settlements in the area.

According to reports from Israeli media, civilians ventured several meters into Lebanese territory near the village of Maroun al-Ras but dispersed upon detection by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops. The group was led by the religious Zionist organization Uri Tzafón, which has been advocating for the colonization of areas it deems “historically Jewish.”

An Israeli military spokesperson warned that any attempt to cross the border without coordination could endanger lives and disrupt IDF operations in the region.

It is crucial to note that Lebanese civilians bear the brunt of these ongoing hostilities, as violence continues unabated. In response to these incidents, Israeli authorities have implemented stricter measures to control border crossings and tighten access procedures.

This incident occurs against a backdrop of continuous violations of the ceasefire agreement by Israel, which has conducted attacks against civilians while attempting to occupy territories that fall outside its jurisdiction. Additionally, the IDF announced on Wednesday the destruction of a tunnel in southern Lebanon, claiming it served as a command center for Hezbollah.

The international community has expressed deep concern over these blatant violations by Tel Aviv, which not only undermine stability in Lebanon but also hinder efforts toward achieving lasting peace in the region. As tensions escalate, calls for accountability and adherence to international law grow louder, emphasizing the urgent need for a resolution that respects Lebanon’s sovereignty and protects its civilian population.
